Dr. Friedman received her BA from Emory University and her Doctorate of Optometry at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. She completed a post-doctoral residency in low vision and ocular pathology at the Palo Alto Veterans Administration. Dr. Friedman has always enjoyed practicing primary care optometry. She has had vast experience in working with patients from ages 9 months to 99 years. She worked for years in an exclusive California Optical Boutique as well as regularly providing eye exams for the indigent. Dr. Friedman has maintained a special passion for working with the blind and visually impaired.
She was also a clinical associate professor at Southern California College of Optometry teaching students to perform low vision exams. Over the years she has continued to practice low vision part-time in a variety of settings. Due to Dr. Friedman’s unusual array of experience, she brings a level of expertise as well as a certain compassion to each of her exams. From educating first-time contact lens wearers, to counseling patients after diagnosing macular degeneration, Dr. Friedman is dedicated to meeting each patient’s needs and concerns.
